Reaching out for help especially when feeling vulnerable, discouraged, or struggling with complex emotions, takes courage. The individuals that gravitate to my practice wrestle with anxiety, panic attacks, past and/or complex trauma(s), being triggered, self esteem, adjustment(s) and/or with a low or depressed mood. Together in a private, comfortable setting, considering your readiness, we'll explore your difficulties, symptoms, experience and strategize. Growing trust and our relationship, providing psycho-education and developing resources to cope and care for yourself are the fundamentals of my work. Finding what helps you reach your goal(s) is my top priority.

Since 1994, I've been practicing social work and have been independently licensed since 2001. Over this time, much attention has been given to professional development through outstanding supervision and continued education. EMDR has transformed my practice and the healing attained by clients. I’m an EMDRIA member, fully trained in EMDR (in the process of getting certified) and have been Certified in Brainspotting for 4 years.

I love what I do and welcome you to schedule a free, 30 minute phone consult. This will provide time for questions and information exchanged by both which I’ve found helps alleviate the natural anxiety in meeting for the first time and helping to ensure the right fit. We can also get scheduled at that time.

Why willow trees?

Willow trees are known for their deep roots, sturdy base and flexibility. Growing up, my home had three willow trees on the property. I recall being able to wrap my arms around them when they were first planted and then over years, only being able to get my arms around a portion. They were huge and a grand presence. I remember swinging from the branches, regularly amazed at how they held me without snapping. These memories were stored deep inside me until I was pushed to develop a business name.

Willow trees symbolize our capacity to grow, survive and thrive even in challenging conditions. They are seen as survivors and are a symbol of rebirth. The flexibility and resilient nature of these trees represent what many of us need to grow, expand and nurture… the ability to adjust to life’s challenges without ‘snapping’.

Catherine (Kaye) Holcomb, LCSW

About Me

My full name is Catherine Holcomb, but I go by Kaye. I was born and raised near Cleveland and have had a great desire to help others from an early age. Originally attending college to become an elementary education teacher, I found my calling while at Bowling Green State University when I came across social work. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in 1994 and was first licensed as a social worker that same year. I completed my Master’s Degree of Social Work/Social Welfare at the SUNY Stony Brook, in 1998. I’ve taken the responsibility and privilege of this role seriously and have been intentional in the positions I’ve held, supervision received, continued education, advanced trainings as well as doing my own internal work. This is in line with my fierce desire to learn and grow, both personally and professionally. I’ve been practicing Independently since 2001.

My personal endeavors have provided a great wealth of professional experiences working with many different, diverse populations and problems. After living in various regions of the country, I have landed in Indianapolis, Indiana, calling it home since 2014.

My practice approaches work with each client individually. Everyone’s pace, readiness, needs and resources to cope are different. I work with each client considering their particular goals and needs.

I am licensed in the State of Indiana, New Mexico and am a registered telehealth provider for clients located in Florida.
